  • Board Meeting Agendas (SB 1133): Meetings of Rapoport Academy's Board of Directors are open to the public. Regular meetings (unless rescheduled by the board) are scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm in the Dunnam Creative Arts Center. Agendas (including meeting time, date, and place) are posted on the Board of Directors page.

  • Board Policies – Rapoport Academy Board Policies including charter school governance, school operations, open government, students, human resources, financial operations, special education policies, and the Texas Transition and Employment Guide can be accessed on the Board of Directors page.

  • District Budget: The superintendent's salary for the 2019-2020 year is $112,925. Click here for the Superintendent Contract.

  • Student Privacy Rights (34 CFR Part 99): Students and their families should be aware that they are afforded certain rights regarding the privacy of their educational records and their ability to opt out of certain information-gathering activities. The rights are guaranteed by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and the related Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA).   • Employment Opportunities (SB 387): Open positions for which a license or certificate is required will be posted to the website for at least 10 days before the vacancy is filled. All open positions are listed on SchoolSpring.com. Click 'Employment' on the top navigation bar for more information.
  • Copyright Infringement (37 CFR 201.38): Notifications of claimed infringement should be delivered to Katrina Carmean, Chief Financial Officer (254-754-8000).
  • Conflict of Interest (LGC 176): There are currently no conflicts of interest involving board members or school officials to report. For a list of board members, see the page entitled Board of Directors or contact Alexis Neumann.

  • College Credit (SB 282): Meyer High School students can earn college credit beginning in 9th grade in several ways: 1) Concurrent enrollment at TSTC (courses offered on TSTC campus or via distance learning); 2) Concurrent enrollment at McLennan Community College(courses offered on MCC campus or via distance learning); 3) Advanced Placement courses taught by Meyer High staff.   • Immunizations (HB 1059): State law requires that public school students receive immunizations for Diptheria/Tetanus/Pertussis; Polio; Measles/Mumps/Rubella; Hepatitis B; Varicella; Meningococcal; and Hepatitis A. For a list of required immunizations (in English and Spanish), doses by grade level, and information on exceptions to those requirements, click here or visit the Texas Department of State Health Services website. Immunization shots are dispensed at a number of health clinics in Waco, including the Family Health Center (609 Elm Ave.) and through the McLennan Country Public Health District.

  • Student Health and Physical Education (SB 42):

    • Full-time physical education staff at Rapoport Elementary School and Quinn Middle School ensure that students at those campuses engage in at least 30 minutes a day or 135 minutes a week of physical activity;
    • Rapoport Academy's School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) held an annual meeting during the 2016-2017 school year;
    • The district does not allow vending machines on campus. 
    • All campuses participate in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and follow all relevant food service guidelines;
    • Possession or use of tobacco products on any campus and at any school-sponsored event is expressly prohibited. District administration enforces this policy.
    • Parents have the right to request their child's physical fitness assessment at the end of the school year.

 

  • Child Abuse Awareness: Child abuse occurs when a parent or caregiver, whether through action or failure to act, causes injury, death, emotional harm or risk of serious harm to a child. There are many forms of child maltreatment, including neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, exploitation and emotional abuse.   If you, or someone you know, is being abused get help right away.  

 

  • Policy on Bullying: Rapoport Academy prohibits bullying or harassment in any form. We encourage students and families to report any incident of bullying or harassment immediately. Upon discovery of an incident of bullying/harassment, school staff will notify the parent/guardian of both the target and the alleged perpetrator of the bullying behavior. School staff will undertake an investigation of all incidents of bullying/harassment. Assistance and interventions will be provided as appropriate to all students involved to help correct the situation. Discipline will be administered as appropriate. In cases involving students with disabilities, all applicable laws and regulations will be followed in administering discipline and developing behavior interventions. An Online Reporting Tool is monitored on a 24-hour basis for reports of bullying and other concerns. 

  • Internet Safety Plan and Cyber Safety: The school district has technology protection measures for all computers/laptops in the school district. All classrooms are in compliance with the Children's Internet Protection Act. 

 

Food Service/USDA Notices

 

  • Healthy Meals At No Cost 2021-22: Rapoport Academy Public School announced its policy today that this school year, healthy meals (one breakfast and one lunch) will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibility requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year. Each school/site or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request. While no application or eligibility determination process is required for your student to receive free meals this school year, the income eligibility requirement will likely resume in the 2022-2023 school year. 

 

  • USDA Anti-Discrimination: In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its Agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA. Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits. Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

 

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: https://www.usda.gov/oascr/how-to-file-a-program-discrimination-complaint,  and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992.
